Karate offers a great whole-body workout comparable to cardio kickboxing. However, it is far superior because students tend to pursue Karate training for years, while kick aerobics students usually stay only for a few months. Karate engages its practitioner not only physically, but also mentally and spiritually as well. While reaching fitness goals, students develop discipline, focus, practical self-defense, flexibility and self-control. Each one hour, fifteen minute class session provides:

  • Over 20 minutes of low impact cardio exercises
  • Stretching to increase flexibility
  • Strengthening exercises
  • Two short meditation periods
  • Muscle toning through basic training in stances, kicking and striking
  • Variety - classes led by several black belts provide a dynamic and varied learning environment.
  • An investigation of the application of martial techniques.
  • Mental conditioning - learning how to control and channel your energy
  • Challenges - Because martial arts are so deep, there is always something more to learn.
  • Community - studying karate is an interactive process that builds a great sense of community among students, where peer recognition and support are priceless in helping you stick to your goals and improve your abilities.
  • Fun, excitement and personal growth.

You'll find that the inherent challenges in perfecting your karate form provide endless opportunities for learning, conditioning and overall personal well-being.
